A violinist of Cong Quartet since 2019, Sally Law is also currently having an orchestral career with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Her current engagement before joining the quartet included the Lucerne Festival Academy 2019, the Tongyeong Music Festival 2018, a collaboration at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center with Reeps One, world champion beatboxer; performances at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Buckingham Palace with Maxim Vengerov and John Wilson for HRH the Prince of Wales; playing alongside members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe; and a solo concert for HRH Princess Alexandra.

Sally graduated from the Royal College of Music as a Tait Trust Scholar supported by a Study Award, where she studied violin with Professor Jan Repko and piano with Professor Kathron Sturrock. During her studies, she was supported by the Neville Wathen Scholarship, Australian Music Foundation Young Musician Award (2013), and Australia AMEB Joyce Phillips Award (2014). Sally has performed in masterclasses with Alina Ibragimova, Alexander Markov, Dong Suk Kang and Alexander Bonduryansky.

Sally works regularly as a chamber musician, and had formed the Mellanie Trio with musicians at the Royal College of Music. Engagements included performances at the Austrian Cultural Forum; St James’ Church Piccadilly; and St Paul’s Church Covent Garden. She was also part of a string trio comprised of Australian musicians who performed at numerous events including representing Australia in the Delegates Lounge of the International Maritime Organisation. She is keen to work with local artists and musicians in creating cross-art productions and exhibitions for the community. In 2015, inspired by the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, she directed her first exhibition at the Royal College of Music in collaboration with a dancer, animation artist and other musicians, as part of the Great Exhibitionists series.

Sally made her solo debut with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, at the age of 17, after winning First Prize in The Young Instrumentalist Competition in Australia. Sally also holds a Licentiate in Music (LMusA) from the Australian Music Examinations Board for both violin (2008) and piano (2012) with distinction. Sally is also involved in outreach and charity projects, including MedArt, Turtle Key Arts and Music Man Project.
